Small New Forest Stream In Summer

Painted in September 2019 this painting features a stream in the New Forest, Hampshire on the south coast of the UK. It is near to the camp site at Aldridge Hill, heavily used by holiday makers during the summer months, a few miles from the town of Brockenhurst. The spot pictured is quite secluded and cool in the hot weather due to the trees offering shade. The dappled shadows of the trees making an interesting pattern on the surface of the water, known as the Lymington River. The 'New Forest' approximately dates from 1079 and is a national park. This painting measures 20” x 16” and is painted in oils on mounting board.
